Ryan S. Perlin
Founding Partner
Ryan S. Perlin is a trial lawyer and founding partner of Malarkey Perlin, LLC, representing clients throughout Maryland and Washington, D.C. in medical malpractice, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, automobile crashes, and serious personal injury cases.

Before dedicating his career to helping victims of negligence, Ryan worked at a leading Baltimore defense firm, where he represented hospitals, doctors, and health care providers in medical malpractice lawsuits and defended local and national clients in high-stakes tort cases. This experience gives him unique insight into defense strategies, which he now uses to fight for injured patients and families.
Ryan has a proven record of success in the courtroom. He recently obtained a $5 million jury verdict in a medical malpractice case, believed to be one of the largest malpractice verdicts in Howard County history. He has tried and settled cases in both state and federal courts across Maryland and D.C., and has also been admitted pro hac vice in Delaware and Pennsylvania to handle cases in those states.
A graduate with honor from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, Ryan competed on the National Trial Team, served as Vice President of the Moot Court Board, and was inducted into the Order of the Barristers for excellence in oral and written advocacy. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Stuart R. Berger on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, now a judge on the Appellate Court of Maryland.

In addition to his trial practice, Ryan is an active leader in the legal community. He served as President of the Board of Directors for Disability Rights Maryland (2021–2024) and he continues to serve on that board. He is also the immediate past President of the Alumni Board for the University of Maryland Carey School of Law. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Maryland Association for Justice, where he works alongside other trial lawyers to strengthen the civil justice system.
Ryan has earned widespread recognition for his legal skill and dedication to clients. He holds the prestigious AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, reflecting the highest standards of legal ability and ethics. He was selected as "Lawyer of the Year" by his peers for Personal Injury Law in the Baltimore area through Best Lawyers, an organization which seeks to gather the consensus opinion of leading lawyers within the same geographical and legal practice area. Ryan has been named a Maryland Super Lawyer every year since 2011 and was selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America (2025 and 2026 editions) for his work in medical malpractice and personal injury law.
